Help@Hand’s Commitment to Innovation and Impact
Founded by Sir Ray Avery GNZM, a renowned pharmaceutical scientist, inventor, and social
entrepreneur, Help@Hand leverages technology and research to create practical solutions for
those affected by domestic and sexual violence. One of its flagship initiatives is the Violence Prevention Watch Service, a discreet security watch designed to provide immediate assistance to in dividuals at risk. This service has been successfully piloted in South Auckland in partnership with Papakura Marae, the police, and family support services offering a personalised safety net for families transitioning out of abusive environments.
Objectives of the SROI Research Project
The nationwide SROI research project aims to:
- Quantify the Social Value: Assess the tangible and intangible benefits generated by
Help@Hand’s programs, translating them into monetary terms to provide a clear picture of
their impact. - Enhance Program Effectiveness: Identify strengths and areas for improvement within
existing services, enabling Help@Hand to refine its approaches and better serve the
community. - Inform Stakeholders: Provide funders, partners, and the public with transparent and
evidence-based insights into the outcomes of Help@Hand’s initiatives, fostering trust and
accountability. - Guide Future Investments: Offer data-driven recommendations to inform strategic
decisions and resource allocation, ensuring that investments yield the highest possible social
